Field Guide, the inaugural exhibition at the new Remai Modern art museum, rethinks the idea of 'modern' from multiple cultural, geographic, historic and contemporary perspectives.
Highlights include Stan Douglas' The Secret Agent, 2015, which restages the plot of Joseph Conrad’s novella – a story of espionage, double-crossing and murky political entanglement – within the aftermath of Portugal’s ‘carnation revolution,’ which overthrew Europe’s oldest dictatorship, in April 1974.
