This publication accompanies Protest at Victoria Miro, 23 September - 5 November 2016, an exhibition of historical and contemporary works by artists concerned with the socio-political issues of their day, who question the status quo and the power structures found within societies, and who take the language of protest as a means to explore its potency.
Designed by Kilimanjaro / OMO Creates with accompanying texts, artist quotes, specially-devised artist pages and additional contextualising images alongside exhibited works, Protest expands on themes explored in the exhibition. The publication also features an interview between Clive Stafford Smith, Founder and Director of Reprieve, and journalist, broadcaster and Reprieve Patron Jon Snow. For this exhibition Victoria Miro is proud to be working with Reprieve – an organisation dedicated to helping the world's most vulnerable people by fighting extreme abuses of human rights.
