In celebration of the publication of Among Others: Blackness at MoMA, co-edited by Darby English and Charlotte Barat, Pindell takes part in a panel discussion with English, Ann Temkin, and Fred Wilson, moderated by Steven Nelson on Sunday 8 September 2019.
Among Others: Blackness at MoMA is the first substantial exploration of a major museum's uneven historical relationship with black artists, black audiences, and the broader subject of racial blackness.
In 1967, her graduation year, Howardena Pindell accepted a job at MoMA, in doing so becoming the first black woman to be appointed to the museum’s curatorial staff.
