This exhibition comprises two separate bodies of work created over the past three years.
The Upper Room is a series of thirteen paintings each one a meditation on a single colour and single motif. The paintings are exhibited in a specially constructed space that has been conceived by the artist and designed in collaboration with the architect David Adjaye. In the lower galleries an ongoing body of work which revolves around the three colours of red, black and green, including Triple Beam Dreamer (2001 - 2002) and Afromantics (2000 - 2002) is exhibited.
